Paul was very clear in his instructions which made him easy to understand which helped me immensely. Through the use of many different methods of teaching it became clear what I needed to know and do and without Paul's patience I wouldn't be surprised if I was still learning how to drive. He never hesitated to answer any questions and gave me very useful techniques for all the manoeuvres. It was great fun, not at all stressful and Paul was a pleasure to spend time with and learn from! Thanks so much Countywide, with your guidance I passed my test 1st time with only 3 minors!

Martin was great driving instructor, despite my density he was always calm and collected. Passed first time with 2 minors. Definatly the way to go.

At first I was taking lessons with another company, and I realised that I needed to change instructors in order to pass. My friend was with Bill, and so she recommended Bill to me. In my opinion, Bill was an excellent instructor! I would highly recommend him to anyone. Bill was very patient and reliable. He taught me alot, for example I am very nervous when it comes to tests, however Bill told me that "bananas" helps to overcome your nerves. So on the day of my test, he bought me a banana to have...and I would say it definitely worked, because I passed!!!!
Lastly, I would like to thank Bill once again!!!

Paul was very patient throughout my learning; a very good teacher and made me feel comfortable. Some areas of driving took longer for me to grasp, but Paul was calm and collected throughout. I was able to be very flexible when choosing what time to book lessons and he was very encouraging. He has taught me a skill for life.

Martin was recommended to me by my sister who took her test in May and passed first-time. I was to stay in Guildford only for 2 months over the summer but she was convinced that it would be enough time for Martin to take me under his wing.
My lessons with him were something I looked forward to every single time. He was always polite, never late and extremely patient. What striked me the most though was the fact that he always encouraged me on my driving even on days when things were not going so well.
His words: 'mirror', 'position', 'watch your speed', 'signal' echoed in my head on the day of my test and I hope I always hear them whenever I'm behind the wheel as I felt very safe with Martin.
I honestly think I have learnt a lot from Martin through his friendly and very human approach to instructing. It does not take him long to connect with a pupil on a professional as well as a personal level and this is, for me, one of the hallmarks of a great instructor. He was particularly helpful on the day of the test where he seemed to have the answers to everything which gave me enough composure and confidence (yes, confidence) to pass the tests with 4 minors. I suppose for instructors, pupils come and go away but the difference is that when people like Martin come into your life and share their knowledge and expertise with you, it leaves a mark on you for a very long time. I fully recommend taking him as instructor if you're reading this and don't know which one to pick from the website. Trust me, you won't regret it.
The one disappointment I have though is that I shall no longer be able to enjoy those wonderful conversations with Martin next to me. Thank you very much for all your help and support.
Finally, I would like to end with the words of Martin: "Taking a driving test is one of the most stressful things you have to do in life..." but with an instructor like Martin in the car during the test, I must say, with hindsight, it was a thoroughly enjoyable moment...

Janet was the perfect driving instructor anyone could ask for! She was very patient and constructive when I began learning, and I admitedly wasn't very good at all. None the less, she always stayed calm and helped me through tough driving situations. The end result was passing first time without any driving faults which I couldn't have asked for a better result and I owe it all to Janet! THANKS

When I was at the very beginning of learning to drive I was very nervous and not very confident but Janet made me feel relaxed and made my confidence grow. I chose to have Janet as my driving instructor as some as my friends also had her as their instructor and they highly recommended her and seeing that they all looked forward to their lessons and passing their tests persuaded me to change from my first instructor from another company to Janet and Countywide. I always enjoyed my lessons and learnt a lot from Janet. I will highly recommend Janet and Countywide Driving School to anyone I know learning to drive! I’m very happy with my pass and am enjoying having my freedom although I do miss having Janet sitting next to me having a nice chat! Thank you very much for teaching me and giving me my independence!
